About Open Source
Open source is where the next layer of technology gets built in public. This category gathers products whose code is open to inspect, modify and run, from polished desktop and web apps to the small libraries that sit quietly inside other people's software.
Use the four subcategories to narrow things by how a project is actually used, or stay on this page to see everything together and apply the filters. Newest launches come first; switch to community votes when you want the crowd's view of what deserves a trial. Before you commit, check the licence, how recently the repository moved and whether the docs get you to a first run without guesswork. For founders, this is a demanding room to launch in, because the audience reads the source, but that is also what makes the attention worth having.

Open Source: questions answered
- What belongs in Open Source on Nexora Launch?
- Products whose source code is publicly available for others to inspect, change and run. That covers finished apps, reusable code libraries, tools you host on your own hardware and open AI models or frameworks. Closed products with only a public API belong in other categories.
- How do I choose between the subcategories?
- Start with who uses the thing. Everyday users of a finished program fit open source apps; programmers who import it fit developer libraries; operators who deploy it on their own servers fit self-hosted tools; models, weights and training or inference code fit open source AI.
- How do I get my project listed here?
- Go to /submit and give us your project's website. An AI produces a first-draft profile from that site, then you review and edit each field before publication. Choose Open Source as your main category, which is included free. A paid launch is $5; the free route waits roughly 6-8 weeks.
- Can I list a project under several categories?
- Every listing has exactly one main category, chosen at submission. If your project straddles areas, such as an open model that you also host yourself, the extra-categories upgrade gives you further slots for $5. Subcategories are shown beneath this page, so the main choice still matters.
- How are listings ordered on this page?
- Newest launches appear first by default, so fresh work gets seen. Visitors can re-sort by community votes to surface what people rate. Votes cannot be bought, so that order reflects real interest. The filters help you narrow within the category and its subcategories.
